Human Resource Management Strategies

The following major strategies will be employed for the accomplishment of our HRM objectives:
 
  1. Maximizing productivity and effectiveness by adopting a simple staffing structure, an optimal staff mix with a primary focus on teaching and activities supporting students’ learning and all-round development;
  2. Attracting both very experienced and young staff with potential, by providing competitive compensation packages, favourable working conditions and career development opportunities;
  3. Recognising and nurturing high performance through the provision of appropriate rewards and sanctions based on performance assessed through regular performance appraisals and appropriate staff development programmes;
  4. Allowing reasonable flexibility to cater for exceptional unique circumstances or individual needs;
  5. Helping staff members raise their performance standards through various on-the-job training; and
  6. Adopting simple and efficient mechanisms in decision making without compromising fairness, interest of the College and its public accountability.
