2021 Guangdong-Hong Kong Technology Cooperation Funding Scheme (TCFS)
Internal application deadline: 22 October 2021 (Friday)

Please take note of the following announcement from the Innovation and Technology Commission. Applications for the 2021 TCFS should be submitted to the Research Office for processing by 22 October 2021, Friday (Internal Deadline).

Please refer to the Research Operation Handbook for the procedures in submitting external funding applications, and the “Approval Route and Authority for External Research Funding Projects” for the corresponding approval routes.

TCFS Project Proposals

TCFS serves to enhance collaboration among universities, research institutes and technology enterprises in the two places, and upgrade the technological level of the industry in the Greater Pearl River Delta region. Under the TCFS, authorities of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, Guangdong and Shenzhen invite applied research and development (R&D) project proposals of specific themes/topics in technology areas of interest in the region. An element of cooperation between Hong Kong and Guangdong/Shenzhen is expected in the project proposals.

Submission of Application and Deadline

Applications will be accepted from 20 September 2021 to 19 November 2021.

Category A - Applications under Category A should be submitted to ITC.

Category C - Applications under Category C must be submitted concurrently by both the Hong Kong and Guangdong/Shenzhen applicant organisations to the ITC and the respective authorities in Guangdong for Category C(1) or Shenzhen for Category C(2).

Applications must be submitted to the Innovation and Technology Fund (ITF) Secretariat electronically through the Innovation and Technology Commission Funding Administrative System (ITCFAS) (https://itcfas.itf.gov.hk).
