Message from the Dean

Welcome to the School of Arts and Humanities (ARH) at Tung Wah College. The School provides a unique educational environment that is designed to promote disciplinary depth, breath, and flexibility. It is not only the home of two featured disciplines, namely Psychology and Early Childhood Education. It also houses two main Academic Serving Units providing essential and compulsory training in tertiary education in the areas of Languages and General Education to the whole College.

Faculties and staff at ARH are devoted to innovative pedagogies, cutting-edge research, and evidence-based practice, which support high quality tertiary education and professional training in the areas of Psychology and Early Childhood Education. Through a spectrum of uniquely designed academic programmes in each area, including Higher Diploma Courses, Degree Studies and Senior Entry Courses (full-time and part-time), we aim to strengthen the core competencies and build a solid foundation of our students to become an all-around professional in the arts and humanities.

ARH is a place that encourages intellectual exchange and innovative ideas, where faculty and fellow students who are enthusiastic about arts and humanities will co-create a thriving learning environment to generate new frontiers of knowledge for the future. Our curricular highlight our devotion to both theory and practice that encourage interdisciplinary discovery and feature an applied component unique to the academy.

As a family of intellectuals, we encourage all students engage in various aspects of School life. ARH provides valuable opportunities for personal growth and acquisition of state-of-the-art knowledge. We hope you will find both and reach out to discover more in the ARH’s family.

Sincerely,
Prof. Alex Chan
Dean, School of Arts and Humanities (ARH)
