Biography
Dr Lap Tuen, Michael Wong is currently the Head of the Centre for Academic and Professional Language Enhancement at Tung Wah College, Hong Kong. Dr Wong started his teaching career in 2001; he has taught a wide range of language-related courses at UGC-funded universities and self-financing institutions from sub-degree to postgraduate level. Dr Wong has published papers/articles in international refereed journals, as well as local and overseas newspapers relating to second language teaching and post-secondary education in Hong Kong. In addition, he has co-edited two scholarly books entitled ‘Teaching and Learning English for Academic Purposes: Current Research and Practices’ (with Dr Wai-lam, Heidi Wong; published in 2018); and ‘English Language Education in a Global World: Practices, Issues and Challenges’ (with Dr Aditi Jhaveri; published in 2015). Both books have received excellent comments and reviews from world-renowned scholars in the fields of English language education and applied linguistics.

Dr Wong has been invited by The Australia Asia Research and Education Foundation to serve as an Honorary Professor to exchange research ideas with scholars and experts from different parts of the world. He has also been serving as an editorial board member of the International Journal of Innovative Interdisciplinary Research and as an external reviewer for Hong Kong Teachers' Centre Journal and two scholarly books.
