About Professor John Minford
Sin Wai Kin Distinguished Professor of Chinese Culture and Translation

Professor John Minford is a world-renowned sinologist and literary translator. He is primarily known for his translations of Chinese classics such as The Story of the Stone (with David Hawkes), The Art of War, Strange Tales from a Chinese Studio and The Deer and the Cauldron. His most recent work, a translation of the famous Chinese divination text, the I Ching, was published in October 2014. With his translations, Professor Minford unfailingly enables his readers to see not only the beauty of language, but also the deeper, philosophical aspects of the texts.
