Applied Gerontology is a diverse field with career opportunities in human services, government agencies, retirement communities, nursing homes, health care, and long-term institutional care.
Graduates can join elderly services as project assistant, project officer, project coordinator, community coordinator and elderly service coordinator; or join academic institutions and government offices as research assistant and executive assistant. Potential employers include health and social care organizations, rehabilitation institutions, government offices, academic institutions, companies providing silver customer services and products.

Is there any clinical practicum in Applied Gerontology programme? Where will the clinical practicum take place?
A3:
There will be a total of 18 weeks of clinical practicum which will be scheduled equally in two periods throughout the study. The clinical practicum will be arranged in day shift. Students will have visits and hands-on experience on gerontology care.
The placement areas include: community centers, elderly services, residential homes, acute and rehabilitation wards and out-patient departments in hospitals, and day care centers.

What should be prepared before the practicum?
A4:
Students are expected to wear uniform during clinical practicum and have body check before attending clinical practicum. The School will arrange briefing for the details before the commencement of clinical practicum.
