We seek an innovative Associate Director to lead TWC’s Research Office. This role will drive our research agenda, promote academic excellence, and support impactful initiatives aligned with TWC’s mission. The Associate Director reports to the Vice-President (Academic).
The appointee will be required but not limited to:
Academic Leadership
a. develop and implement a strategic research agenda that enhances TWC's academic profile and aligns with our mission of serving the community;
b. foster a culture of academic excellence by promoting evidence-based practices and encouraging interinstitutional and interdisciplinary research collaborations;
c. support faculty in securing externa research funding Research Grants Council (RGC) and other significant funding bodies; publishing in high-impact journals; and translating findings into practical applications; and
d. establish and maintain strong partnerships with local, regional, and international academic institutions, industry stakeholders, and governmental and non-governmental organizations.
Administrative Leadership
e. oversee the operations of the Research Office, ensuring efficient management of resources, budgets, and personnel;
f. develop and implement policies and procedures that support research integrity, compliance, and ethical standards;
g. coordinate with Schools/Units in TWC to integrate research activities with teaching and community engagement initiatives; and
h. organize workshops, seminars, and conferences to disseminate research findings and promote knowledge exchange and translation.
Applicants should:
a. possess a postgraduate degree in a relevant field with a strong track record of research excellence and publications;
b. have proven experience in research leadership, preferably within a higher education or research institution;
c. have demonstrated ability to secure research funding and manage large-scale research projects;
d. have strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships with diverse stakeholders; and
e. a visionary leader with a commitment to fostering an inclusive and innovative research environment.
Salary will be competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.
