Research Seminar Series Jointly Organized by Research Office and MHS

A series of three research seminars were jointly organized by Research Office and the School of Medical and Health Sciences (MHS) in early December 2024.

1. Prof. Marco PANG, the Shun Hing Education and Charity Fund Professor in Rehabilitation Sciences, Chair Professor of Neurorehabilitation and Head of Department of Rehabilitation Sciences, at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, presented a talk on "Musculoskeletal Issues in Individuals with Stroke " on 4th December 2024. Professor Grace Szeto, Acting Dean of MHS, delivered the welcoming speech.

  
 

2. An inspirational seminar titled "How Can We Tell If a Cancer Patient Survives? Predicting Survival Rates Post-Treatment: The Exciting Potential of Radiomics Research" was co-organized with the Cancer Care Research Theme Group on 6th December 2024. Prof. Tang Fuk Hay, shared the development of radiomics predictions for cancer treatment, and his presentation raised a lively discussion in the Q&A section.

  

3. Professor Grace Szeto, Acting Dean of MHS and Dr. Sharon Tsang, Associate Professor, Dept of Rehabilitation Sciences, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, provided us with the “Research Update on Neck Pain Pathomechanics and Management” on 11th December 2024.  Professor Grace Szeto presented on her research topic  “Effects of Posture Biofeedback Versus Muscle Biofeedback in People with Chronic Neck Pain Related to Smartphone Use” and Dr. Sharon Tsang presented “Evaluation and Integration of Spinal Biomechanics and Motor Control for Optimizing Function and Recovery of Neck Related Dysfunction”.
