Tung Wah College Confers Honorary Fellowships on Four Distinguished Individuals

Tung Wah College (TWC) held its Third Honorary Fellowship Conferment Ceremony on 20 February. Ms. Mandy Tang Ming Wai, Chairman of TWGHs Board of Directors 2024/2025 cum Board of Governors of TWC, conferred honorary fellowships upon four distinguished individuals in recognition of their outstanding professional achievements and exceptional contributions to the society. The recipients are Mr. Christopher Chan Yiu Chong, BBS, JP; Mr. Henry Fan Hung Ling, SBS, JP; Dr. the Honourable Elsie Leung Oi Sie, GBM, JP; and The Honourable Tsang Yok Sing, Jasper, GBM, GBS, JP.

At the Ceremony, Ms. Mandy Tang Ming Wai, Chairman of TWGHs Board of Directors 2024/2025 cum Board of Governors of TWC, applauded the four awardees for their outstanding contributions and remarkable achievements, which have not only made a lasting impact on our society but have also played a pivotal role in bringing positive changes and progress. “I am deeply honoured to acknowledge that the diverse backgrounds and accomplishments of our esteemed recipients resonate with the fundamental values and services rendered by the Tung Wah Group of Hospitals.”

Professor Sally Chan, President of TWC, also conveyed her heartfelt congratulations and gratitude to these esteemed individuals for their support to the College. She said, “The four Honorary Fellows are joining the TWC family at a fascinating stage in the College’s development. I am confident that with the support of our new Fellows, we will continue to realise TWC’s vision of becoming a leading private university deeply rooted in Hong Kong, serving our country, and embracing the world.”

Speaking on behalf of the four Honorary Fellowship recipients, Mr. Christopher Chan thanked TWC for conferring Honorary Fellowships upon them. With a thirty-year commitment to the Tung Wah family, and active involvement as a pivotal founding member of the College’s Board of Governors since its inception until 2023, he said, “TWC’s development is always close to my heart. I am thus immensely proud that the College has become the first and only self-financing tertiary institution in Hong Kong to offer five professionally accredited allied health and nursing degree programmes. I am touched in having witnessed the College fulfils its mission to train and educate young talents, to excel not only in the workforce but also contribute to our society as a responsible citizen.” He and other Honorary Fellows will continue to contribute to the sustainable development of the College for the betterment of our city and country.
