TWC Scholars Listed among World’s Top 2% Scientists 2025
26/09/2025

Seven TWC Scholars have been listed among the World’s Top 2% Scientists, as published in 2025 by Stanford University in the United States.  Marking another year of outstanding achievements, two more TWC scholars joined the list this year.

According to this latest rankings, Professor Sally Chan, President of TWC, Professor David Man, Vice President (Academic) and Professor Lorna Suen, Dean of School of Nursing, were recognised for their career-long citation impact. In addition, Professor Sally Chan and Professor Lorna Suen, together with four other scholars from the School of Nursing, were listed for their single-year citation impact: Professor Rick Kwan, Associate Dean (Programmes), Professor Simon Lam, Associate Dean (Research), Dr. Florence Wong, Associate Professor and Dr. Jingjing Su, Assistant Professor.

TWC scholars have attained remarkable accomplishments in their respective academic fields. In the field of “Nursing”, Professor Sally Chan ranks 83rd in the world and second in overall China, the highest position among nursing scholars in Hong Kong. Meanwhile, Professor David Man and Professor Lorna Suen are ranked fifth and fourth in Hong Kong in the fields of “Rehabilitation” and “Complementary & Alternative Medicine” respectively.

The World’s Top 2% Most-cited Scientists compiled by Stanford University is divided into two lists, based on scholars’ career-long (1960-2024) and single-year (2024) impact, recognising their lifetime achievement and recent research impact respectively. The list identifies world’s top 100,000 scientists based on various indicators including the numbers of citations in their respective research areas.

Congratulations to our seven scholars! These recognitions not only affirm the research excellence of TWC academics but also highlight the College’s growing influence in advancing academic research.
