Exploring Forensic Science: A Visit to the Government Laboratory
08/05/2025

On May 8th, Prof. Danny Gohel, Dr. Maggie Lam and Dr. Deejay Mak from the Division of Science at the School of Medical and Health Sciences guided a group of 15 Year-4 students from the Forensic Biomedical Science program on a visit to the Government Laboratory. During the visit, Mr. Bobbie Cheung, the Assistant Government Chemist in the Forensic Science Division, delivered an engaging talk about the organization and scope of work at the Government Laboratory. He presented a homicide case that captured the students’ imaginations, highlighting the challenges of being a forensic professional. Additionally, he discussed the entry requirements and general job responsibilities, providing insights into future career opportunities. The students also had the chance to tour the Forensic DNA Lab.
