Lions Clubs of Hong Kong Joy worked with the Physiotherapy of Tung Wah College and organized the cardiorespiratory and fall risk assessment at Tseung Kwan O on 11th November 2023.

120 elderly participants arrived at the hall of the Tseung Kwan O Yan Chai Hospital Wong Wha San Secondary School at 9 am. On the day of the community service, Forty-eight  BSc(Hons) in Physiotherapy Year 3 students were involved in this meaningful event and assessed the older people there.

Senior clinical associates Ms Ester Ho, Ms Annie Wu, Ms Lavinia Wong and Mr Eyckle Wong led the students to run the event smoothly.

Physiotherapy students applied their knowledge and skills to handle the cardiopulmonary and fall risk assessment and provided home advice for the elderly. The older people were happy with the event. They appreciated the physiotherapy students’ professionalism and efforts on the day of the service.

The President of the Lions Club of Hong Kong Joy, Ms Helen Hon, said this event was successful and the work by teachers and the physiotherapy students at Tung Wah College was excellent. She hoped that similar meaningful events could be held again soon.
