CRG Budget limit Above HK$50,000 and below HK$130,000 Duration Normally not more than two years Eligibility All full-time academic staff (or at least 80% of time on a fractional basis) except those on probationNote: For non-academic staff members after probation, they are eligible to be Co-Is, but not PI.Review Process Application proposals will be reviewed by one external and one internal reviewer and discussed thoroughly in the Research Committee (RC) -
Allowable Budget Items
- The following items are allowed for reimbursement: (a) Research Support Staff; (b) Equipment; (c) General Expenses; (d) publication fees/article publication charges to publish journal articles with open access and (e) cost of English editing. Please refer to Section 7.4 (d) of the Research Operation Handbook and the application form for details.
- With a view of providing research experience for undergraduate students, applicants are encouraged to include a budget item to hire P/T undergraduate student helpers (at the rank of P/T Executive Assistant) in their CRG applications.
Notes:(i) The funding would not cover expenses the employment of relief teachers.(ii) Each CRG project holder should submit an application for an external funding scheme, based on the results obtained from the CRG project, within 12 months upon the completion of the funded studyApplicants may refer to Chapter 5 and Chapter 8 of the Research Operation Handbook for details of CRG as well as the assessment procedures (available at “Staff Area” of the Research Office website and Staff Portal for download).
