Positive Psychology 2.0 International Conference 2025 was successfully held
03/07/2025

Tung Wah College (TWC) hosted the Positive Psychology 2.0 International Conference 2025 (PP 2.0 2025) from 25 to 28 June 2025. Delving into the theme of "The Roles of Psychology of Spirituality and Transcendence in Facing Ever-Changing Environment and Life Adversities", the Conference attracted nearly 3,600 participants from 35 countries both online and onsite. Six renowned scholars from the United States and the United Kingdom delivered six keynote sessions and four keynote workshops, along with 22 parallel sessions of 52 paper presentations from 105 local and overseas researchers. The discussion focused on fostering spirituality to lead a meaningful life grounded in self-transcendence, through selfless love and serving others, amidst life adversities and global uncertainties.

Professor Sally Chan, President of TWC, delivered the welcoming speech on 25 June and the closing remarks on 28 June. As one of our flagship events for TWC’s 15th Anniversary Celebration, she mentioned that this successful event once again showcased TWC’s commitment to academic excellence and community engagement, significantly contributing to TWC’s ongoing development and bolstering our confidence as we strive towards university status.

Professor Chan expressed special thanks to the two keynote speakers from the United States, Professor Kirk Bingaman from Fordham University and Professor Daryl Van Tongeren from Hope College. She was also grateful for the support from the local and international co-organisers, including The Education University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong Shue Yan University, School of Continuing Education at Hong Kong Baptist University, Caritas Hong Kong, International Network on Personal Meaning, and the Translational Research Centre for Digital Mental Health at TWC.

In his opening speech, Professor Alex Chan, Dean of the School of Arts and Humanities of TWC and Chairman of the Organising Committee of this Conference, expressed his hope that the participants not only learnt new scientific knowledge about psychology of spirituality and transcendence under the PP 2.0 framework, but also reflected on our humanistic life values and greater meaning as a better person, collectively making this uncertain and chaotic world a better place.

Special thanks are given to the following six keynote speakers for their participation and insightful sharing:
