Programme DescriptionThis interdisciplinary programme bridges healthcare management with digital innovation, focusing on AI, Big Data, and Health Information Management. It equips professionals to lead digital transformations, evaluate smart health technologies, and implement data-driven strategies to optimize health service delivery and patient safety in global contexts.
The objectives of the programme are as follows:
- To advance students’ mastery of competencies and continuous reflective approaches in leading health services, especially related to Digital Health, AI, and Health Information Management;
- To enhance students’ capabilities in Health Services Management;
- To enable students to critically analyse and appraise cases in smart health services management, with a focus on strategic decision-making, leadership implications, and policy advocacy;
- To empower students’ leadership capacity and enable them to initiate, lead, and advocate for transformation initiatives in Digital Health, AI, and Health Information Management within health-related organizations;
- To equip students with skills in research and anaylsis related to Digital Health, AI or Health Information Management; and
- To train students to translate the knowledge of smart health services management into practice through real-world, industry-related applications.
Programme FeaturesThis programme responds to the ever-innovative environment of the healthcare industry, adopting an interprofessional and interdisciplinary collaborative model with a curriculum designed for professional development. It aims to comprehensively enhance the management capabilities of healthcare professionals, cultivating their forward-thinking mindset and visionary leadership in both governmental and non-governmental healthcare institutions.
The programme also keeps pace with global development, covering cutting-edge topics such as smart health operations, med-tech project management, and healthcare data governance. It is particularly suitable for professionals with backgrounds in information technology or healthcare services.

* For those who do not wish to complete the Capstone Project module can choose the option to graduate with a Postgraduate Diploma in Smart Health Services Management (PgD (SHSM)).
Admission RequirementsAcademic Qualifications
Applicants should meet the following requirements:
Bachelor’s degree (or an equivalent qualification at QF Level 5) in Healthcare, Information Technology, Management, or a related discipline from a recognised institutionEnglish Language Proficiency Requirement (For applicants of the English Medium of Instruction (EMI) mode)
Applicants applying for admission with qualifications from universities (or equivalent institutions) where the medium of instruction or assessment is NOT English must provide proof of one of the following:
- IELTS (Academic): overall band score of at least 6.0 (at least 5.5 in each sub-category); OR
- TOEFL (iBT): score of 74 or above; OR
- College English Test (CET) Band 6: A minimum overall score of 500 and grade B in the CET-SET (Speaking English Test); OR equivalent.
Chinese Language Proficiency Requirement (For applicants of the Chinese Medium of Instruction (CMI) mode)
- Native speaker of Mandarin Chinese; OR
- Hold qualifications from universities (or equivalent institutions) where the medium of instruction or assessment is Mandarin Chinese; OR
- Possess a Putonghua Proficiency Test certificate of Grade 3, Level B or above, as recognized by the National Language and Character Working Committee (or State Language Commission).
