17/06/2026

Tung Wah College (TWC) held the “Scholarship and Award Presentation Ceremony 2026” at King’s Park Campus on 17 June 2026 to recognise students’ outstanding performance in academics, social services and other areas. 690 scholarships amounted to HK$16.10 million were awarded to 572 students.

Mr. York Tseng Hing Yip, Chairman of the TWGHs Board of Directors 2026/2027 cum Board of Governors of TWC; Mr. Jason Joseph Lee, Chairman of the College Council of TWC; Members of TWGHs Board of Directors 2026/2027; Professor Sally Chan, President of TWC; donors and other guests attended the Ceremony to witness the outstanding achievements of the awardees.

Mr. York Tseng Hing Yip, Chairman of the Board of Governors, said in his speech, “Upholding the philanthropic spirit of TWGHs, TWC has always been committed to nurturing socially responsible and caring professionals. This dedication is deeply reflected in the College’s research endeavours. Earlier this year, TWC launched multidisciplinary initiatives with partner institutions, including participation in the NeuroCare Community Project, organised by the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, which provides early detection of Alzheimer's disease for 6,000 community-dwelling elderly. TWC also announced research findings on adolescents’ mental health in collaboration with Hong Kong Shue Yan University, training secondary students to promote mental well-being among their peers and in the wider community.” He encouraged students to continue studying diligently, pursue their aspirations, apply their knowledge, and give back to society.

Mr. Jason Joseph Lee, Chairman of the College Council, noted that TWC has become the first self-financing institution in Hong Kong to offer a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Nursing. As TWC’s first doctoral programme, it welcomed its first cohort in the first quarter of this year. Chairman Lee said, “Leveraging TWC’s strengths in applied research, the programme will enhance students’ research capabilities, translate research findings into practical solutions, improve patient care outcomes, strengthen the healthcare system, and advance medical innovation.”

In her vote of thanks, Professor Sally Chan, President of TWC, expressed sincere gratitude to the HKSAR Government, TWGHs, and donors from across the community for their steadfast support of the College. She commended the awardees for their courage and perseverance in their academic pursuits and wished them continued success as they realise their potential and build a bright future. She also expressed her aspiration for the College to attain university status soon and to continue growing together with its students in the years ahead.

Student representative, Ms. Tiffany Mo, a student in the Bachelor of Management (Honours) in Social and Business Sustainability programme, received multiple honours, including Tung Wah College Outstanding Student Award, Yau Tsim Mong Outstanding Students Award, Outstanding Performance Scholarship, TWGHs Ma Kam Chan Memorial Scholarship, and the EduCare@TWC Entrance Scholarships 2025/2026.

She thanked the College for offering a vibrant campus life, which broadened her horizons and honed her leadership skills through various roles she undertook on campus. Through overseas exchange, community visits and participation in research and innovation projects, she gained a deeper appreciation of serving society and responding to diverse needs with empathy, creativity, and technology. She expressed her gratitude to TWC for its guidance and support, and pledged to apply her learning to contribute to the community and pay forward the care she had received.
