Tung Wah College Hosts E-Teaching Experience Sharing Forum
16/07/2020

Tung Wah College (TWC) successfully hosted the E-Teaching Experience Sharing Forum via Facebook livestream on 15 July 2020 (Wednesday) in Ma Kam Chan Memorial Building of the College.

The Forum presented the learnings of the participants upon the completion of the investigation and data collection stage of the eTeaching Literacy Project: Improving Students’ Learning Performance Through Empowering Teachers’ Digital Teaching Capacity (the Project), which commenced in 2019.

Professor Lawrence Lam, Acting President (Academic) of TWC and the Chairman of the Project team, welcomed the participating educators to the Forum. “Supported by Quality Enhancement Support Scheme (QESS), the Project aims to address utilisation of eLearning technologies in course development and classroom delivery of course contents by implementing an eTeaching literacy intervention programme for empowering the eLearning capacity of teachers at TWC,” said Professor Lam.

Seven academics from diverse disciplines, including arts and humanities, management, medical and health sciences, as well as nursing, shared their hands-on practical experiences and demonstrated examples on how the latest eLearning technologies could be applied in different education settings.

Dr. Florence Wong, Assistant Professor from the School of Nursing, featured her sharing with a video. “Making effective use of simulation video and nursing skills video help visualise the requirements of teachers and allow multiple views of students,” said Dr. Wong. She also added that students’ participation in video production was encouraged as first-personal experience was vital to students’ learning.

The Project will be completed by the end of 2020. The video archive of the Sharing Forum is now available on TWC Facebook fan page (facebook.com/twchk).
