Professor Tang Fuk Hay of School of Medical and Health Science visited Shandong First Medical University (Shandong Medical Academy of Medical Science)

Professor Tang Fuk Hay leading 2 staff members of MHS and committee members of the Hong Kong Radiographers visited the Shandong First Medical University (Shandong Academy of Medical Science) on 1 April 2024. Professor Wang Pengcheng, member of the Party Committee and Vice President of the University warmly met the guests from Hong Kong.

On behalf of the University, Professor Wang Pengcheng extended a warm welcome to the guests from Hong Kong. Professor Wang briefly introduced the recent development and achievements in the University that included campus development, education, resources, discipline development, etc., and spoke highly of the outstanding contributions made by the radiography education development by Tung Wah College and the Hong Kong radiographers. He further expressed the hope that we will continue to deepen cooperation and exchanges in student activities, research and professional enhancement and work together to promote the high-quality development of the both Shandong First Medical University and Tung Wah College.

Professor Tang Fuk Hay of the Tung Wah College briefly introduced the research and project achievements of the College in the field of medical radiation science, and expressed the vision of in-depth exchanges and cooperation with the University.

During the visit, Professor Tang Fuk Hay and his entourage visited the Medical Imaging Museum, radiation science and medical imaging laboratories. Professor Tang, Dr Marco Tam and Dr Jacky Wong of Tung Wah College conducted and in-depth discussions on cutting-edge research, technology development, exchange visits, and resource sharing in the field of radiation science.  Professor Qiu Jianfeng, Dean of the School of Radiology, said that this exchange and learning activity not only enhanced the friendship and understanding between the two institutes, but also laid a solid foundation for future cooperation.

In the afternoon, Professor Tang Fuk Hay, Dr. Marco Tam of Tung Wah College, and Mr. Alex Leung of the Hong Kong Radiographer’ Association gave a rich and cutting-edge academic lecture in the lecture hall of the library and interacted with detailed answers to the questions raised by the students.

To conclude the visit, the Shandong First Medical University will strengthen exchanges and visits with the Tung Wah College to achieve resource sharing, collaborative innovation, and jointly promote the development and progress of radiologic science and education.
