Professor Deng’s main research areas include community care, geriatric care, and palliative care (Advance Care Planning). She is a fellow of American academy of nursing. She is a reviewer for several journals including the International Journal of Nursing Studies, International Journal of Nursing Sciences, and Journal of Professional Nursing. She has been a Principal investigator and grant reviewer for the National Natural Science Foundation of China. And taken the key roles in several national professional associations including: Vice Chairman of Hospice Nursing Professional Committee of Chinese Nursing Association; Member of geriatric Medical Care Branch of Chinese Medical Doctor Association; Executive Director of Guizhou Nursing Society; Chairman of hospice Nursing Professional Committee of Zhuhai Nursing Society; Chairman of hospice care Committee of Zhuhai Nursing Association; Deputy Director of the Evidence-based Nursing Committee of the Ninth Council of the Guangdong Nursing Association; and Member of the Second Committee of Cognitive Disorders Branch of Chinese medical institution of Geriatrics.
