In this study, Prof. Chow intends to establish a 3D game-based virtual world which may provide a variety of scenarios (such as a serious bus crash accident that involves a large number of injured people) so as to let students practise field triage skills.

Prof. Chow said that the project would provide students with an interesting and flexible study platform without time and geographical constraints. Students can practise their skills anytime, anywhere, and interact with other participants through the social media function of the platform.

The research team of this project comprises IT and design professionals, as well as accident & emergency service experts including nurses and medical consultant from the Hospital Authority. Prof. Chow hopes that the research outcomes could be applied to medical training and benefit more people in the future.
