Biography
Prof. Christopher Lai trained as a diagnostic radiographer in Hong Kong. He worked in public hospitals after graduating from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, where he specialized in fluoroscopy, computed tomography, interventional radiology, magnetic resonance imaging and general radiography. After more than 14 years of clinical practice, he joined the Hong Kong Polytechnic University where he began his career as a clinical educator and researcher.

During his tenure at Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Prof. Lai expanded his research into both basic science research and clinical research while taking on significant leadership roles in the university. He was appointed by the Radiographers Board as the Chairman of the Registration Committee, Examination Committee, and Education Committee. Additionally, he also served as the Programme Leader for the BSc (Hons) Radiography programme at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University before relocating to Singapore.

Prof. Lai played a pivotal role in shaping radiography education in Singapore. He served as Programme Leader for both the BSc (Hons) Diagnostic Radiography and BSc (Hons) Radiation Therapy programmes at the Singapore Institute of Technology. As a senior faculty member at Singapore Institute of Technology, he oversaw academic staff planning, faculty recruitment, and strategic development for the Health and Social Sciences Cluster of Singapore Institute of Technology. Beyond academia, he also contributed to national healthcare standards as a key member of the Diagnostic Radiography and Radiation Therapist Panel under Singapore’s Ministry of Health.

After serving almost six years at the Singapore Institute of Technology, Prof. Lai returned to Hong Kong and assumes the role of Dean of the School of Medical and Health Sciences at Tung Wah College. He also leads the newly launched BSc (Hons) in Medical Imaging programme, furthering his commitment to advancing radiography education and research in Hong Kong.
