Before joining Tung Wah College in 2023, he was a Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Health Technology and Informatics at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University and a Visiting Scholar in the Department of Micro Engineering at Kyoto University, Japan. He has supervised undergraduate and secondary school students in research mentoring programmes and honours projects.
Dr. Tam’s research focuses on colorectal cancer prognosis and survivorship, with particular emphasis on the tumour microenvironment, radiomics and personalized radiotherapy. His work spans in vitro, in vivo and clinical studies and increasingly integrates multi‑omics and machine learning for risk stratification and toxicity prediction. To date, he has published more than 35 peer‑reviewed journal papers and conference abstracts, including 17 as first or corresponding author, with over 2900 citations and an h‑index of 15.
