Biography
After graduation from Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Serena has worked in a number of acute and rehabilitation hospitals, served as co-chairman of the Occupational Therapy Coordinating Committee of the Hospital Authority, served as a member and chairman of various professional government committees, and has been invited to serve as a professional consultant to the Social Welfare Department, various non-governmental organizations and the Hong Kong Housing Society.. She was won the Outstanding Staff Award in Hospital Authority in 2017. Serena was the Centre Head of the Hospital Authority Community Rehabilitation Centre before leaving the service in 2022
Serena has been working with forward-looking and innovative thinking in applying evidence-based advanced technologies, participated in a number of studies and helped in promoting and introducing important rehabilitation services by the Hospital Authority including brain-computer interface in cognitive rehab, tailor-made Virtual Reality in therapeutic training, the application of Occupational Lifestyle Redesign Program to stroke patients and extended spectrums to primary care, chronic disease as well as mental health. Dr. Ng has also published over 20 major papers, over 10 book chapters and received research grants from the Hospital Authority.
