News & EventsDr. Sarwat FATIMALecturer (講師)Office: 16/F, School of Nursing, Ma Kam Chan Memorial Building, 31 Wylie Road, Homantin, Kowloon, Hong KongTelephone: (852) 3725 6225Email: [email protected]BiographyDr. Sarwat Fatima joined the School of Nursing in 2022 as a lecturer. She completed her BSc (Hons) and MPhil studies from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Her MPhil research was on identification of novel oncogenes in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC). She obtained her PhD from the University of Hong Kong and pursued part of her PhD studies at the National University of Singapore (NUS). Following her PhD, Dr. Fatima pursued 6 years of post-doctoral research at the Hong Kong Baptist University. Both her PhD and post-doctoral research studies were focused on identifying cellular and molecular mechanisms in hepatocellular (HCC) and colorectal cancer (CRC) progression. Dr. Fatima has authored book chapters on molecular biomarkers for cancers as well as made contributions to various publications in peer-reviewed journals. Following her post-doctoral studies, she led a research and development team at a private company investigating liquid biopsy. Recently she completed an online course in bioethics from Harvard University. Currently her research interests lie in the role of machine learning in cancer diagnosis and/or prognosis.Academic and Professional QualificationsBsc (Hons), MPhil, PhDAuthor Identifications
