Strategic Pillars

The following six strategic pillars guide the 2026-2031 Five-Year Strategic Plan and are anchored in the theme of “Transformation and Community Impact”:

Our Vision

The College aspires to be a leading University of Applied Sciences in the Asia-Pacific region, excelling in medical, health, social, biological and digital sciences through integrated education, research and industry partnerships.

The six strategic pillars form an integrated and coherent framework that enables the College to realise its vision, fulfil its mission, and embody the theme of “Transformation and Community Impact”.

At the core of this framework is the College’s unwavering commitment to high-quality applied education and research, which serves as the cornerstone of our strategic plan. The strategic pillars of “Applied Education” and “Research Visibility and Impact” are mutually reinforcing: education is informed by research, while research remains grounded in practice, ensuring relevance, rigour, and real-world impact.

Extending the reach and relevance of the aforesaid strategic pillars, “Global and Regional Engagement”, together with “Education Diversity and Inclusion”, function as vital branches of the framework. The strategic pillar of “Global and Regional Engagement” broadens perspectives and enhances the depth, visibility and impact of the College’s applied education and research. Meanwhile, the strategic pillar of “Education Diversity and Inclusion” shapes the design and delivery of these initiatives, ensuring that programmes and research work respond effectively to the diverse needs of industries, students, and society.

As the College grows, we remain mindful that the ultimate outcomes of our educational endeavours are our students, the future leaders of society. Their development is sustained by strong foundations: dedicated staff and robust teaching and learning systems. These foundations give rise to the final two strategic pillars: nurturing the humanistic qualities of both students and staff through “Future Leadership”, while continuously enhancing the methods of teaching and learning through “Innovation, Digital Transformation and Leading-Edge Education”. True education, we believe, extends beyond technical competence to cultivate lifelong growth, adaptability, and transformation. With the strategic pillar of “Future Leadership” providing the people and humanistic culture needed to sustain growth momentum, the strategic pillar of “Innovation, Digital Transformation and Leading-Edge Education” supplies the fuel to drive continuous improvement and adaptation.

Interconnected and mutually reinforcing, the six strategic pillars form a living whole: roots (our staff), trunk (our core function in education and research), branches (our diversity and outreach), and fruits (our students). Collectively, the six strategic pillars shall enable the College to grow with strength and purpose, generating lasting benefits for the wider community.
