Biography
Dr. Florence Wong graduated from The Nethersole School of Nursing of The Chinese University of Hong Kong, and obtained her Registered Nurse License in Hong Kong in 1992. After obtaining the License, she worked as a Registered Nurse in the Intensive Care Unit or Coronary Care Unit in various hospitals in Hong Kong and Vancouver, Canada. In Vancouver, she further obtained her Bachelor of Technology in Specialty Nursing (Critical Care Nursing) at British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT) in 1999, and earned her Master’s Degree in Nursing (Advanced Nursing) at The University of Hong Kong in 2007. In 2013, Dr. Wong received her Doctorate Degree (Doctor of Nursing) from The Chinese University of Hong Kong.
 
Dr. Wong joined Tung Wah College in 2012. She had taught at The Hong Kong University and The Chinese University of Hong Kong before joining Tung Wah College. Her enthusiasm for teaching and her previous clinical experience has inspired many nursing students to be responsible and competent nurses. Dr. Wong is a resourceful teacher and provides support and care to students. She received a teaching excellence award given in recognition of her achievements, which prompted her to pursue higher goals in nursing education.
 
Although Dr. Wong has different research interests (nursing education, oral health of the elderly, health-related quality of life, cardiac care and critical care), her research is currently focused on nursing education and oral health of the elderly. After joining Tung Wah College, she has been receiving research grants and has published articles in multiple peer-reviewed international journals.
