Biography
Dr. James Cheng joined the School of Nursing Tung Wah College as Senior Lecturer in 2023.   He graduated in School of General Nursing, Prince of Wales Hospital, and became a registered nurse in a medical ward, where he gained clinical expertise in cardiology, hepatobiliary, renal, respiratory, gastrointestinal nursing. Followed by exposure to operating theatre nursing and theatre sterile supplies unit in charge to maintain sterility of surgical equipment and adequate supplies. He attained post-registration Certificate in Burns and Plastic Surgical Nursing.
 
He was engaged in nursing education over 20 years and he has substantial experience in classroom and clinical teaching.  He taught medical and surgical nursing, and later primary health care and health promotion, community health nursing and gerontological nursing. He attained Bachelor of Nursing in 1992, Master degree of Health Services Management in 2003, and Doctoral degree in 2010 to upgrade his knowledge. He was one of the council members of Hong Kong Primary Health Care Professionals Association in 2012.
 
Developing perseverance is the principle of everything he does, both professionally and personally and as intrinsic motivation for pursuing career path.
