Q1	What is this programme about?
A1	It is the first undergraduate degree programme in Hong Kong which covers both Health Information Management (HIM) and Health Services Management (HSM). Students will take three clusters of discipline courses in the areas of Health Sciences, HIM and HSM.
Q2	How has this programme been developed?
A2	The programme has been developed in accordance with the professional requirements of the competency frameworks and standards of international associations related to HIM and HSM.
Q3	How relevant is this programme to the latest developments in the healthcare industry in Hong Kong?
A3	In both the public and private healthcare sectors, there is growing emphasis on the development of Smart Hospitals and Smart Healthcare, and the application of Digital Health and HIM. Health services administrators and executives are increasingly required to apply modern technologies to manage health services at all levels of care.
Q4	What are the employment opportunities for our graduates?
A4	Graduates can embark on careers in the public, private and NGO healthcare sectors and take up job positions such as Health Information & Records Officer, Medical Records Officer, Coding Officer, Executive Assistant, Executive Officer II, Health Administrator II, Human Resources Officer, Supporting Services Officer, Customer Service Officer, Marketing Officer, Project Officer, Research Assistant, Procurement Officer, and Facility Management Officer. Additionally, the HIM component of the programme will provide graduates with more career opportunities in newer job positions such as Data Coder, Casemix Analyst, Health Information Manager, Digital Health Technopreneur, Digital Health Transformation Manager, Data Privacy Officer, Health/Clinical Database and Disease Registry Manager, and Health System Development and Implementation Specialist.
Q5	Can I join the programme without a Science or Information Technology background?
A5	Yes, students from all backgrounds are welcome to apply to the programme.
Q6	What are the opportunities for further studies?
A6	Graduates are well positioned to embark on further studies, either locally or internationally, in Master’s degree programmes in related areas such as Health Administration, Health Services Management, Public Health, and Digital Health.
Q7	If I have a sub-degree in a related area, can I get credit exemptions?
