Abstract

Embarking on research presents a unique chance to delve into novel ideas, yet formulating a clear and impactful research question or problem can be challenging for students new to the process. This session offers a practical framework to turn curiosity into well-structured research inquiries. We will discuss techniques for identifying gaps in existing knowledge, aligning questions with personal interests, and ensuring feasibility within available resources and timeframes. Through real-world examples and interactive discussions, participants will gain insights into narrowing broad topics into focused, manageable research problems ideal for undergraduate projects. Tailored for students from diverse disciplines, this talk seeks to demystify the initial stages of research and equip students with the confidence to take charge of their projects.
