News & EventsProfessor Bei WUProf. Bei WU serves as the Vice Dean for Research and Dean’s Professor in Global Health at NYU Rory Meyers College of Nursing. She is the co-founder of the NYU Aging Incubator, a university-wide initiative focused on advancing aging-related research and innovation.
A globally recognized leader in gerontology, Prof. WU has significantly advanced the field through interdisciplinary collaborations and groundbreaking research. With extensive expertise in behavioral interventions and secondary data analysis, she has served as Principal Investigator on numerous NIH-funded projects. Prof. Wu has authored over 860 publications, including 420 peer-reviewed manuscripts, on critical topics such as dementia caregiving, geriatric oral health, and cognitive impairment risk factors. Her contributions have earned her numerous honors, including being named a fellow of the Gerontological Society of America and the New York Academy of Medicine, as well as recognition as an honorary fellow of the American Academy of Nursing and an honorary member of Sigma Theta Tau International.
Prof. WU’s distinguished accolades include the Distinguished Scientist Award for Geriatric Oral Research from the International Association for Dental Research, the 2022 Wei Hu Inspiration Award from the China Health Policy and Management Society, the 2023 Maxwell A. Pollack Award for Contributions to Healthy Aging from the Gerontological Society of America, and the 2024 Public Service Award from the American Association for Dental, Oral, and Craniofacial Research.
