Biography
Dr. Candy Wu had her general nursing and midwifery training in Hong Kong, and she was awarded Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Nursing by The Hong Kong Polytechnic University.  She then obtained her Master of Science in Heath Education and Health Promotion from Leeds Metropolitan University in the United Kingdom, and her Doctor of Philosophy (Nursing) from the School of Nursing of University of California, San Francisco, USA.  Her enthusiasm for community and public health nursing led her to pursue a Diploma in Public Health Nursing Studies from the School of Public Health of Department of Health in Hong Kong.
 
Dr. Wu has accumulated rich clinical experience in operation theatre nursing, maternity care and community health nursing, as well as valuable experience in supervising master and doctoral nursing students.  She started her career with clinical work and then shifted her role to tertiary education by joining the School of Nursing of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University.  She was initially a Lecturer in the University and was later promoted to Assistant Professor while devoting time and effort to nurse education.  In 2020, Dr. Wu moved to the School of Nursing at Tung Wah College.  As an Assistant Professor of the College, she has continued to pursue her passion for teaching nursing students to participate in the nursing profession and promote public health of Hong Kong community.  The research interests of Dr. Wu are obstetric nursing and community care of cardiac patients and the elderly.
