Ms. Hon started her nursing career as a Registered Nurse in the Surgical and Medical Department of Yan Chai Hospital from 1998. She has competence in Total Patient Care, Basic Nursing Bedside Procedure and handling of medical emergencies. In 2008, she completed Midwifery training in Princess Margaret Hospital for one and a half year and was a Midwife at the Hospital Authority in Hong Kong. In 2013, she transferred to Canossa Hospital. She worked in the Obstetrics and Gynaecology Department, which provided one-stop maternity care services, for about two years. During these years, she provided services antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal care as well as breastfeeding promotion and education for women; and care to newborn babies. Besides, she also delivered talks on ante-natal and postnatal care.Three years later, she changed to work at Gleneagles Hospital Hong Kong as a Senior Registered Nurse, and was responsible for the setting up of an Obstetrics and Gynaecology Department in the hospital, including formulating guidelines, protocols and obstetrics emergency management procedures; as well as handling procurement and maintenance issues of medical equipment. In addition, she also took care of manpower issues before Safety Rounds being conducted by the Department of Health. In 2018, Ms. Hon became a Clinical Preceptor (Advanced Practice Nurse) for the Medical, Emergency Medicine Ward (EMW) and the Accident and Emergency Departments of Pamela Youde Nethersole Eastern Hospital, where she obtained much experience in mentoring and conducting clinical teaching for new graduates, and risk analysis and management.Ms. Hon also serves as an Honorary Clinical Assessor for the Nursing Services Division of Hospital Authority of The HKSAR Government. Her job responsibilities include conducting clinical assessments and examinations for nursing students on wound dressing, medication administration, and nursing care plan assessment. Apart from work, Ms. Hon also takes part in community services.
