Biography
Prof. Julia XIAO is currently the professor of the School of Nursing at Tung Wah College. She has over 20 years of experience as an academic in tertiary institutions. Her research focuses on nursing informatics, especially intelligent rehabilitation nursing, and digital transformation in nursing education. She has led 19 national or municipal-level projects. Some of the research projects are funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), National Key Research and Development Foundation of the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Innovation Fund of the Ministry of Education, and so on. She published more than 200 articles and served as an editorial board member or reviewer of national and international journals. She is frequently invited to different national and international conferences as a speaker to share her research findings. She has more than 20 national patents or software Copyrights and has received numerous national or municipal academic awards. In addition, she has rich teaching experience in both undergraduate and graduate education, and she has received more than 10 teaching awards over the past years. She was awarded Municipal Outstanding Young Teacher in 2021.
 
Prof. QIAO was elected a Fellow of the American Academy of Nursing (FAAN) in 2023, Non-Local Fellow of the Hong Kong Academy of Nursing and Midwifery, and Member of Sigma Theta Tau International Honour Society of Nursing in 2024, and Fellow of the Australian Institute of Digital Health in 2025.
