Biography
Ms. Chan graduated from the School of Nursing at Queen Mary Hospital in 1987. She began her career in a surgical unit before transferring to the Intensive Care Unit. After completing her midwifery training at the School of Midwives in 1992, she continued working in the Intensive Care Unit at Queen Elizabeth Hospital. She received Post Registration Certificate Course Training in Cardiothoracic Nursing at Grantham Hospital. Following this training, she provided training to junior nurses on caring for patients undergoing open-heart surgery, which was a new service in the Cardiac Care Unit.

In 1995, Ms. Chan was promoted to Nursing Officer in the Intensive Care Units at Ruttonjee and Tang Shiu Kin Hospitals, where she initiated various training programs for junior and new staff. In 1999, she transferred to the Acute Medical Ward, specializing in Stroke and Cardiac care, and became Ward Manager in 2008. In this role, she supervised nursing care standards, coordinated manpower, and managed daily operational issues.

After retiring in 2023, she was rehired as an Advanced Practice Nurse, allowing her to update her bedside nursing skills.
