News & EventsDr. Margaret Wai Yan WONG (王維茵博士)Senior Lecturer (高級講師)Deputy Centre Director of Integrative Health Centre (中西醫護及復康中心副總監)Room 1401, Cheung Chin Lan Hong Building (Mongkok Campus B), 98 Shantung Street, Mongkok, Hong KongTelephone: (852) 3464 0277Email: [email protected]BiographyDr. Margaret Wong is currently a Deputy Director of Integrative Health Centre, Senior Lecturer, and Registered Chinese Medicine Practitioner in the School of Nursing of Tung Wah College.Dr. Wong was recognized as a Registered Nurse by the Nursing Council of Hong Kong, as well as a Registered Chinese Medicine Practitioner by the Chinese Medicine Council of Hong Kong. She graduated from the University of Toronto in Canada with Bachelor of Business Administration, and earned her Master of Chinese Medicine in the Chinese University of Hong Kong from which she was awarded the Sau Yin Scholarship. She also earned her Master of Stroke and Clinical Neurosciences in the Chinese University of Hong Kong. Dr. Wong achieved distinction in her Doctoral Degree of Philosophy (Hon) in LIGS University of the United States of America. Her PhD study was to investigate Integrative Medicine in Hong Kong and Integrative Chinese Emergency Medicine with its clinical integration management and standardization of models’ relational coordination.Dr. Wong has over 9 years of Chinese Medicine practicing experience. Over the years of Chinese Medicine practicing and teaching, she got overwhelming positive feedback from her students every year with very good standing in the students’ evaluation. During her service in the nursing sector, she worked as a Registered Nurse in the Accident and Emergency Department and operation theatre and as a Registered Nurse In-Charge in the Department of Health. She also served as a Subject Convener of Chinese Medicine in the public hospitals of the Hospital Authority in Hong Kong. Besides, she took up the role of Chinese Medicine Consultant in a research project led by the former CEO of the Hospital Authority in Hong Kong, Professor Vivian Wong Taam Chi Woon. The research title was to investigate the Integration of Chinese and Western Medicine - “Symptom-Based Stratification of Diabetes Mellitus by Renal Function Decline (System): A retrospective Cohort Study and Modeling Assessment.”. In the meantime, Dr. Wong is at present working as a RCMP co-investigator for the Lee Kam Kee Foundation funded renal research project in the School of Nursing, Tung Wah College, led by Dean Professor Lorna Suen, a World’s Top 2% Scientists in both 'career' and 'single year' records, Stanford University (2021 - Present) and the Fellow of the American Academy of Nursing (FAAN).In addition, Dr. Wong was honorably elected by the Professors of Chinese Medicine as an Honorary Secretariat and a Chairman in Biomedical and Nursing in Academia of Ancient and Contemporary Chinese Medicine Limited.
