News & EventsMs. Shelley Yuen Ching LAU (劉婉菁女士)Lecturer (講師)Office: 16/F, School of Nursing, Ma Kam Chan Memorial Building, 31 Wylie Road, Homantin, Kowloon, Hong KongTelephone: (852) 3725 6116Email: [email protected]BiographyWith over 30 years of experience in the nursing profession and more than 20 years as a clinical mentor, I have had the privilege of interacting with students across different generations. Through these interactions, I have observed significant changes in learning models and have stayed abreast of the evolving trends in the nursing industry. Over the past two decades, my primary focus has been on obstetric care. I have played a key role in introducing innovative services in private hospital maternity wards, including the implementation of practices such as the use of yoga balls, aromatherapy, prenatal and postnatal massage, and infant massage. In the last five years, my work has expanded to encompass private midwifery clinic and postpartum care center. This role has provided me with a deeper understanding of the diverse needs and services required for maternal prenatal and postnatal care, as well as newborn care. Additionally, I have taken on responsibilities in postnatal care center for internal training, designing tutorials, training postpartum caregivers, enhancing the efficiency of nursing services, and improving the standard design of nursing services. These experiences have enriched my understanding of obstetric care and made it more comprehensive.Academic and Professional QualificationsRN, RMEducationMaster of Nursing (Chinese Medicinal Nursing), School of Nursing, The Open University of Hong Kong (Hong Kong)Bachelor of Health Science (Nursing), School of Nursing, University of Western Sydney (Hawkesbury)Certified Infant massage Instructor, International Association of Infant MassageIFA Diploma in Professional Aromatherapy, International Federation of AromatherapistsIFA Diploma in Professional Essential Oils Therapy, International Federation of AromatherapistsTeaching AreasMaternity and Infant careSubject ExpertiseMaternity and Infant carePrenatal and postnatal Aromatherapy
