Message from the Head of Quality Assurance OfficeAccording to the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (“UNESCO”), quality assurance (QA) is defined as an ongoing, continuous process of evaluating (assessing, monitoring, guaranteeing, maintaining, and improving) the quality of a higher education system, institutions, or programmes. The Organisation further points out that QA in higher education has gained significant momentum worldwide over the last two decades. The major drivers entail the increased public demand for better performance of higher education institutions, widening of access and a clear call from stakeholders for greater efficiency and accountability, the need for better quality graduates to drive national economies, better use of public resources for higher education and increasing cross-border provisions.
