The appointee will be required but not limited to:
- assist and support the Head of Facilities Management Office in supervising a team of supporting staff, as well as liaison with different units within and outside the College;
- prepare proposals for capital project submissions and feasibility studies/sketch plans for senior management approval;
- manage and supervise all capital projects in meeting the required quality standard, work programme and cost control;
- liaise with external consultants for the preparation of plans, specifications and check on consultants’ proposals;
- conduct regular building inspections and check to identify any defects for rectification works;
- prepare maintenance schedules for all the repair & maintenance works to upkeep the building fabrics and building services in good working conditions;
- supervise the day-to-day repair & maintenance works;
- assess and plan the College’s long-term space requirements and prepare extension plans;
- rationalize and re-organize the space disposition of the campus in accordance with the changing academic requirements;
- prepare tender documents and RFQs for procurement exercise;
- perform cost planning, cost estimating, cost analysis and cost control;
- perform any other duties as assigned by the Head of Facilities Management Office; and
- work on irregular hours including Saturdays, Sundays and Public Holidays when necessary.
Applicants should:
- possess a master’s degree in Building Surveying/Project Management/Architectural Studies/Building Studies or related discipline;
- be qualified professional surveyor, registered architect, professional engineer or equivalent would be an advantage;
- have at least 8 years of relevant working experience in Building Maintenance Works/ Alteration and Addition Works/Properties Development/Project Management;
- have comprehensive knowledge of Buildings Ordinance, costing, contract arrangement, etc.;
- have broad knowledge and understanding of real estate disciplines (architecture, construction, space planning and engineering, etc.);
- be knowledgeable about real estate laws and related documents (leases, contracts, etc.);
- have the competence to control and manage cost/budget;
- be self-motivated and be able to work independently;
- have good leadership, interpersonal, communication and coordination skills;
- have good report writing skills; and
- have ability to prioritize and schedule tasks and work in a team environment.
