Working at TWC

Staff Intranet
The HRO Intranet for Staff is a secure private portal that provides staff members with exclusive access to restricted information such as College policies, regulations and guidelines.  It is also a secure platform that allows the Human Resources Office (HRO) to update staff members on issues related to human resources management.
The HRO Intranet for Staff provides:
  • Information to new staff
  • Staff handbook, regulations and forms
  • Staff communications including HR Update and Staff Forum
  • Staff learning and development information
  • Staff welfare and activities updates
  • HRO staff directory
Employee Self-service System (ESS)
In order to improve work efficiency and reduce paperwork, the HRO has developed the Employee Self-service System (ESS) whereby staff members can access personal information anytime and anywhere.  In order to maintain up-to-date personal records, staff members are encouraged to update their personal particulars via the ESS.
The ESS provides the following services for staff:
  • real-time access to information on personal records, leave balances, payslips, tax reports and medical claims records, etc.
  • self-administered changes to personal particulars such as addresses, phone numbers, and emergency contacts, etc.
  • online leave applications
Personal Data
The College strives to comply with the Data Protection Principles of the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance in personnel data management and ensures confidentiality of the personal data of staff members.  The HRO has developed the Guidelines on Personal Data Protection, which apply to all personal data provided by individual members of staff.  Staff members are strongly encouraged to observe these guidelines carefully.
Staff Card
A TWC staff card is issued to each staff member whose appointment period is three months or longer.  The staff card does not only serve as an identification card but also provides access to various College facilities, such as the library.
The staff benefits and entitlements are set out in the individual contracts and the appended documents.  Upon assumption of duty, full-time staff members will be automatically enrolled in the medical and dental schemes and the leave plan.  The College offers outpatient, hospital and dental benefits to full-time staff members and their eligible dependants subject to the respective regulations.
In accordance with the Mandatory Provident Fund (MPF) Schemes Ordinance , staff members are required to enrol in the MPF Scheme by returning the completed enrolment form to HRO within the first week after commencement of duty.
Salary Payment
Full-time staff members are paid monthly normally at the end of the month, or on the working day preceding a designated pay day that falls on a Saturday, Sunday or public holiday.  Salaries offered are competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.
