Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Medical Imaging Special Entrance Scholarship for the 2024/2025 Entry

Background

There has been an ongoing shortage of Diagnostic Radiographers in Hong Kong. The recent years’ outflow rate ranges from 8-20%.  The impact on the medical imaging services is particularly serious as the number of Diagnostic Radiographers has always been small as compared with other healthcare disciplines. Facing the shortage of radiography profession workforce, TWC established Hong Kong’s first self-financing Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Medical Imaging programme (BSc (MI)) to meet the societal demands and for the benefits of the society. The new BSc (MI) programme will be launched in the new academic year 2024/2025 from September 2024.

The Special Entrance Scholarship

The College will provide 5 Special Entrance Scholarships with the amount of HK$60,000 (each) to 5 local students admitted to the BSc (MI) programme with the highest HKDSE scores or equivalent upon the 2024/2025 entry.

Implementation Issues

  1. All local students admitted to the BSc (MI) programme in the academic year 2024/2025 are eligible for consideration for this Special Entrance Scholarship according to each of their individual HKDSE scores or equivalent upon admission.

  2. For the definition of local and non-local students, the Education Bureau has suggested to take reference from a relevant web page from the JUPAS web site: https://www.jupas.edu.hk /page/detail/3670/

  1. The President has the discretion to increase or reduce the number of this Special Entrance Scholarships and to make decision for the final awardees, based on other supplementary information provided by the students if any, upon the occasion when two or more students admitted having the same HKDSE scores or equivalent qualifications.
