Short description
 
This is a 4-year full-time programme recognized by the World Federation of Occupational Therapists as meeting the international standard for education of occupational therapists. The programme is approved by the Occupational Therapists Board of Hong Kong for registrable qualification. The programme provides cross-disciplinary general knowledge including language courses and foundation courses in Health Sciences. Core courses are introduced to nurture foundation occupational therapy knowledge and skills, while discipline-based courses emphasize consolidation, integration and application of essential attributes, knowledge and skills for practice in occupational therapy. Students are required to complete at least 1,000 hours of clinical practicum in various settings.

Requirement remark
  • Applicants with previous HKDSE subject result of A040 ‘Liberal Studies’ will be used as the alternative of the core subject requirement of A045 ‘Citizenship and Social Development’.
  • Preference will be given to applicants who have obtained:
    • Level 4 or above in English Language in HKDSE
    • Level 3 or above in Biology or Combined Science with Biology* in HKDSE
  • Students with HKDSE English Language results at Level 3 are required to complete non-credit bearing English enhancement course(s) in the first year of study.

The College will adjust the tuition fee of its programmes based on the Composite Consumer Price Index to be announced by the Government annually.
The above tuition fee is net of annual subsidy under the Study Subsidy Scheme for Designated Professions/Sectors (SSSDP).  In 2024/25 academic year, the annual subsidy under the SSSDP is $79,770 for laboratory-based undergraduate programmes.  The annual subsidy amount may vary in each academic year subject to the announcement by the Education Bureau.  For details, please visit http://www.cspe.edu.hk/sssdp.  Only local students are eligible to be subsidised under SSSDP.
