Licensed e-resources are provided for the exclusive use of current TWC staff and students with a valid TWC-authorized user login.Purpose and ScopeThis section outlines key copyright and licensing requirements to ensure that all library users comply with applicable legislation and the terms of licensed e-resources.License AgreementsThe Library subscribes to a wide range of e-resources to support teaching, learning, and research. Access to these resources is governed by legally binding license agreements that specify how e-resources (including e-databases, e‑journals, e‑books, and other digital content) may be accessed, used, and reproduced.CopyrightThe contents of e-databases, e-journals, e-books and other digital materials are protected intellectual property under copyright law. Users are fully responsible for any legal consequences arising from excessive downloading or infringement of applicable copyright legislation (Cap 528).Terms & Conditions of UseAuthorized users must ensure that their use of licensed e-resources is ethical, lawful, and fully compliant with the terms of use specified by each publisher.Authorized UsersAccess to licensed e-resources is restricted to current TWC students and staff.Prohibited UsesIn accordance with the copyright regulations, users may download, save, or print reasonable portions of text, search results, and other information from the Library’s online resources for studying, teaching, and research purposes. However, the following activities are strictly prohibited:- Using online resources for any commercial or non-academic purposes
- Excessive or systematic downloading of content
- Sharing personal login credentials with unauthorized users
- Redistributing licensed content to individuals who are not authorized users
- Using spider, crawler, or other automated programmes to harvest or capture data
Consequences of Misuse of Electronic ResourcesViolations of license agreements may result in the suspension or termination of access to e-resources for the entire campus community. Such misconduct may also lead to disciplinary action in accordance with relevant College policies and procedures.DisclaimerUsers are responsible for ensuring that licensed e-resources are used strictly for educational purposes.
